Deanna Pucciarelli, PhD. is an Associate Professor and Program Director of the Hospitality and Food Management Program, Ball State University, Muncie, IN. Recent research projects include investigating environmental determinants to human food consumption patterns. Some of the variables that impact food intake: cultural, familial, national and international food and agriculture policies, psychological, socio-economical level have been the focus of her research program. Another area of investigative interest is sustainability. Her student-team placed first in the sustainable dining category in the international 2013 Solar Decathlon, Irvine, CA. Dr. Pucciarelli’s research findings have been disseminated at symposia in Europe, West Africa, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and throughout the United States including the National Academy of Sciences.
