Ugo Bardi started his career in physical chemistry focusing is interest on materials science, but later on moved towards energy and sustainability, with a particular interest in mineral resources, especially oil and other fossil resources and their effect on climate change. He works also on electrical transportation, waste management and recycling, as well as on agriculture and water remediation. Author of more than 160 papers in international journals and a large number of presentations at national and international meetings. He is the author of the recent books, “The Limits to Growth Revisited” (Springer 2011) and of “Plundering the Planet” (Oekom, 2013) and “Extracted,” (Chelsea Greeen, 2014).
Ugo Bardi is engaged in several activities related to sustainability and energy. He is member of the Club of Rome and of the international scientific committee of ASPO (Association for the study of peak oil). He has been member of the government commission for the best technologies of waste management. He is active in the dissemination of scientific results in climate science as member of the scientific committee of the “Climalteranti” group, which collects most Italian researchers in climate science (www.climalteranti.it).
